Still here...

We're finally getting settled in to whatever it means to be normal...settled into the house, settled in with our newest addition (who's now 10 months old,) settled into summer, etc. I wish I were better about writing, but I'm not...too busy with being a full-time mom and part-time professor. I do tend to post little snippets on Facebook, but it's wholly unsatisfying because it limits me to a small number of words and I rather like to pontificate. Anyway, here are some pics of the kids.

Lots of Pics

The kids have been sick (RSV, pneumonia, ear infections) so I don't have time to write much. But here are some recent pics!

Slacker Mom

So, yes, I am officially a slacker mom. I may have some bona fide excuses (three, really) but I should still at least try to make some effort to keep up my blog. It's been THREE MONTHS! Of course, dear readers--if there are any of you left--it has been three months since the birth of my darling son. And in true slacker mom style, I'm going to stop writing and post some pictures with the hope that the cuteness will allow you to forgive me....

We've moved!

After suffering obvious mental impairment, Jeremy and I decided it would be a good idea to move to our new house when I'm due with baby #3 in two weeks!

We are moved in, but it will likely take us forever to get everything unpacked. Luckily, unlike our old house, this house has an attic--lots of storage for stuff I want to keep but don't need underfoot. Jeremy is in love with his new garage--something else our old house didn't have. The girls and I are not allowed in "his garage."

The girls LOVE their new rooms (they actually have space to play in their rooms now,) their playroom (one day Jeremy and I will reclaim it--it's the florida room--but for now it's the kids playroom,) and they LOVE having a large flat yard (with a fence--which I like) to play in. The girls are already conspiring and working on their Daddy to get them a swing set and a "bounce-o-line" (their word for trampoline.) We'll see...

We're a little overwhelmed with the volume of repairs needed right away...we bought a fixer upper (great price, awesome interest rate) BUT we didn't think we'd need to tackle the repairs right away. We were WRONG! Oh well...we're working on it.

We miss our old house a little bit. I knew where everything was there--I can't find anything here! We had also done a lot of upgrades and repairs there and now we have to tackle similar items here. We will also miss our neighbors. But, the girls and even the cat appear to be totally in love with the new house, so Jer and I are making work and are fixing that which needs fixing.

I hope everyone in cyberland is doing well...I apologize for not having posted anything in a while. I've just been busy, busy, busy.

Happy Birthday, Evelyn!!

I can hardly believe that my little Evelyn is two-years-old today! She's still "baby" to us, but she's starting to be a little girl, too. Here are a few pics of her today--enjoying her day. We've had two birthday parties already, so today probably seems a little low key, but it's been nice.

Snow Day Adventures

We've had wacky weather here the last few weeks. March definitely came in like a lion with the biggest snow storm this century--we had almost 10 inches--coupled with record low temperatures. Six days later, it was 80 degrees outside and we were wearing shorts and splashing in water on our deck. Now it's somewhere in between and rainy.
Here are some pics of our fun in the snow--about two days after the snow came. On the first day of the snow, Evelyn wanted nothing to do with the it--she wanted to watch the snow from the comfort of our windows. But by day two, we had shoveled some paths and the snow had compressed a bit, so she was ready to play.

House for Sale!

Know anyone who wants to buy our house? We've decided to take the plunge and list our house. We found a house that we really like, so we've got a contingency contract. It's not the "goldfish" house--that seemed like an accident waiting to happen. We went for the "brick" house--which comes complete with my darling hubby singing that "brick house" song (over and over.) Lucky me. :)

Now for the hard part--the cleaning. Those of you who know me well know that I am domestically challenged. Which is a nice way of saying I'm a slob. For the next several months (hopefully not that long--send me a buyer!!) I'm going to have to be cleaner and more organized than I've ever been in my life! I'm not exactly looking forward to it, but I've got a goal--a prize--at the end if all goes well.

Hopefully, this process will be quick and relatively painless. I think the girls will love having a fenced, flat backyard that they can play in. I think they'll also enjoy the slightly bigger bedrooms and bathroom. I know we'll enjoy our bathroom and office (no kids allowed!) better!

Anyways, wish us luck. And if you know of anyone interested in a bargain priced house--send them my way! :)
