Potty Wisdom

Well, we're down to about one accident a day--a great improvement from the other day where it seemed like Lydia went through ten panties in one day. I just had to laugh when she had a little accident this morning. She called out to me, "Potty, Mommy!!" and came running... unfortunately, she hadn't been able to hold it all in and was a little wet. She looked up at me and said, "Mommy's sad...Lydia pee-pee in panties." (Lydia talks in third person quite a bit.) After she finished her business on the potty, she peeked up at me with a questioning face and asked, "Mommy happy now?!?" I guess my repetition of "Wet panties are yucky" and "Dry panties are great" and variations thereof have sunk in...sort of...

Evelyn, meanwhile, has a grin that won't quit and she knows it. She was throwing food off her tray the other day and I scolded her. She was totally unfazed and gave me an enormous, dimply grin. When Jer bent over to pick up what she'd dropped, she started pelting him with more food...as he crawled out of the way, she changed her aim and kept pelting him with her supply of grapes. It's a good thing little kids are cute!
